About Dharamshala

Dharamshala is a city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this hillside city is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. The Thekchen Chöling Temple Complex is a spiritual center for Tibetan Buddhism, while the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives houses thousands of precious manuscripts.

Located in the Kangra valley and set against the Dhauladar mountain range, Dharamsala literally takes your breath away as a destination. It’s cool climate, tea plantations and the most amazing pine and deodar forests mingled with bamboo trees, seen against snow covered mountain peaks, are a treat for sore eyes. If you’re a tea lover then the spring flush of this region’s tea is delightful.
